Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command's NAVOBSERV unit seeks a FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the N4 LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY DEPARTMENT. You will manage building readiness, coordinate maintenance and security systems, and serve as a liaison between USNO and NAVFAC.

Key duties include coordinating fire suppression maintenance, conducting zone inspections, and supporting safety program development in collaboration with the Safety Officer and department heads. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS may be required.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in safety, security, logistics, administration, and contracting guidance.
• Ability to interpret federal laws and DoD/DoN policies for USNO policies and procedures.
• Experience developing training plans and educating civilian personnel on safety and physical security.
• Experience coordinating base-wide building requirements and prioritizing resources.
• Experience directing building readiness initiatives aligned with mission requirements.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and Navy safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as USNO building manager; liaise between USNO and NAVFAC for building readiness, maintenance, environmental concerns, fire suppression, and security systems.
• Act as primary liaison between USNO and Washington Navy Yard fire response for annual drills and fire suppression maintenance.
• Assist N4 with zone inspections and maintenance ticket submittals to ensure consistency.
• Coordinate maintenance and construction projects with NAVFAC and related entities.
• Write and execute safety policies for USNO in coordination with Safety Officer and department heads.
• Attend Naval Safety and Environmental Training Center courses to support the Safety Officer.
