Job summary

Lufthansa Cargo seeks a Facility Master Mechanic to diagnose, maintain, and repair facility equipment, ensuring safe, reliable cargo operations.

You will lead preventive maintenance, manage records and spare parts, and serve as the focal point for equipment issues, with opportunities to take on additional tasks as needed.

5–10 years in facility and MHS equipment is preferred; travel, valid US driver’s license, and strong English are required.

Qualifications

  • High school certificate required.
  • Bachelor's &/or Master's degree desirable.
  • 5-10 years experience in Facility & MHS equipment.
  • Excellent written & spoken English.
  • Full knowledge of facility equipment and potential failure points.
  • Knowledge of MHS, fire safety, electrical systems, & hydraulics.
  • Responsible for employees.
  • Responsible for budget.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical effort up to 25 kg.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Strong cost consciousness and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving.
  • Legal work permit in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, hardware issues, CCTV and MHS issues.
  • Repair MHS, doors, cooling units, access controls per TSA; dock plates and cargo-handling equipment.
  • Understand each piece of equipment and preventive maintenance needs.
  • Keep records of work performed and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Be the focal point for diagnosing equipment problems within the facility.
  • Takeover of additional tasks when required.

Keep the operation moving with your expertise!

As a Facility Master Mechanic, you’ll play a key role in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing facility equipment to ensure reliable performance, minimize downtime, and keep our Cargo operations running safely, smoothly, and without interruption!

Tasks
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, Hardware issues, CCTV and MHS issues
  • Repair MHS, overhead doors, cooling units, access controls governed by the TSA, dock plates and all equipment used by the cargo handling department that may be out of service
  • Understand each piece of equipment and the specific areas of those that need attention as part of the preventive maintenance exercise
  • Keep records of all work performed on every piece of equipment as well as an inventory of spare parts
  • Be the focal point for diagnosing equipment problems within the facility
  • Takeover of additional tasks when required

Requirements
  • High school certificate required
