Description
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of parish facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. This role ensures that facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained by managing maintenance activities, coordinating vendors, and supporting capital and operational projects.

Provides coordination and oversight of maintenance staff and vendors; may supervise staff depending on parish size and structure.

Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, business administration, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of experience and technical training. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a related field required. Requires knowledge of building systems including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices. Familiarity with building codes, OSHA requirements, and ADA regulations required.
Work is performed in both office and field environments. This position may require work beyond a standard 8-hour day, including evenings, weekends, and on-call availability for emergencies. The role involves oversight of facility operations in a dynamic environment.
Ability to climb a ladder to height of 35 feet and use scaffolds. Ability to lift, push, and/or pull 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, lean, reach, crawl, stretch, and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to access all areas of parish facilities, including climbing ladders and working in various indoor and outdoor conditions, as needed to oversee operations. Work inside and outside of buildings. Work in well lighted and ventilated areas, hot and cold temperatures, and dark and tight quarters. Ability to work with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
