Responsibilities include coordinating with outside contractors, inspecting facilities, managing work orders, training the team, and ensuring compliance with safety and government standards while contributing to long-term facility planning.

Job Overview

The Facilities Manager at AEVEX Aerospace maintains and oversees the grounds, buildings and equipment to ensure a safe and functional worksite. They will perform many maintenance, safety and management tasks that promote a clean and safe working environment for all employees.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
  • Coordinate between company and outside contractors to resolve issues and execute planned facility modifications and expansion
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on facilities and equipment including making repairs as needed
  • Receive, manage, and process work order requests; ensures problems are resolved quickly
  • Train and coach direct reports to promote a highly skilled and effective facilities team
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor recreation spaces
  • Maintain files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for facility equipment and/or services
  • Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Ensure proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals
  • Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
  • Draft and implement preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment
  • Participate in emergency response planning and oversee the execution of facility preparations in response to changing weather conditions.
  • Prepare and file government compliance reports
  • Ensures that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations
  • Participate in strategic planning by forecasting facility short, mid and long term requirements
  • Develop and submit facility requirements in support of annual budgeting process
  • Provide recommendations for purchases of new equipment
  • Maintains facility inventory and orders supplies as necessary
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
  • Ability to understand written directions in manuals and manufacturer websites
  • Clear understanding of the equipment and operations specific to the worksite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, vendors and team members
  • Competent writing and communication skills - including the ability to communicate technical information
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Detail orientated and demonstrated efficient problem-solving and critical thinking skills to quickly resolve unexpected issues
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a time sensitive work environment

  • Knowledge of standard construction projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records

Education / Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Facilities Management Certification a plus
