Key Responsibilities

The Facility Maintenance Worker is responsible for completing projects related to the maintenance of both the building and the grounds of the facility.

  • Manage building services including maintenance, upkeep of the building, grounds, and parking areas, renovation/remodeling projects, and coordinate all site safety and security activities and requirements.
  • Perform building inspections and take proactive steps to ensure a safe, efficient, and presentable work environment.
  • Oversee safety and security issues including fire, burglary, or building closure. Responsible for close circuit monitoring and access cards.
  • Assist program managers in identifying maintenance issues, tracking routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
  • Track and maintain facility fire and health inspections. Rectify or coordinate repairs for deficiencies noted on inspections.
  • Direct contractor activities for operating and maintaining facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Other Duties Include
  • Maintain a high standard of role model behavior for youth.
  • Participate in training and development activities as required.
  • Report acts, incidents, or conditions reflecting inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
  • Report use of physical force and all unusual incidents per guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly related to the essential functions of this position. Prior project management experience highly desired.
  • Good analytical skills, effective communication, participatory management, strong organizing and planning skills. Ability to interface effectively at all levels. Commitment to professional standards and personal development.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. Ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license, meet auto insurance requirements, and pass criminal background checks and pre-employment screens.
