Keystone-Management at Boston Logan International Airport is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician III to perform preventive maintenance and repair of plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including refrigeration and A/C units. Responsibilities include changing filters, cleaning coils, lighting, basic carpentry, and maintaining equipment.

You will use a CMMS, participate in on-call schedules, and collaborate with vendors and inspectors.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years of vocational training in mechanical/electrical/HVAC or plumbing.
• Must possess a specific trade certification.
• Experience performing Preventive Maintenance on equipment.
• Professional painting experience is a plus.
• Commercial carpentry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain equipment and amenities.
• Diagnose equipment issues and assist in problem diagnosis.
• Train maintenance staff on mechanical systems.
• Change HVAC filters and light bulbs.
• Be available for assigned on-call emergencies.
• Use CMMS to create/close work orders with labor hours and parts.
• Coordinate with outside service personnel, inspectors and vendors.

Location: Boston Logan International Airport, Boston, MA

Shift: (1st Shift) (Sunday - Thursday) (6:30 am - 2:30 pm)

Salary: $32.00-$36.00

Job Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Technician III is responsible for performing essential preventive maintenance and repair of building plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and control systems, including refrigeration, and A/C units. Activities may include changing filters, cleaning heating and cooling coils, cleaning floor drains, changing light bulbs, painting, drywall, basic carpentry, performing preventive maintenance activities on equipment, assembling and disassembling systems furniture, and removing and installing signs. Performs repairs on walls, carpets, and windows.

Essential Functions:

• Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
• Diagnose equipment issues & assist in the diagnosis of process-related problems
• Train other maintenance personnel on mechanical systems and personal areas of expertise
• Change of all filters for HVAC as required
• Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
• Available for an assigned emergency on-call schedule
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned
• Assists outside service personnel, inspectors and vendors
• Keeps workspace neat, clean and free of clutter
• Understand and comply with OSHA, Safety and PPE requirements
• Use computer-based CMMS system to create and closeout work orders with data including labor hours, equipment maintenance and parts used
• Carry a company radio/cell phone for coverage and site-wide communication
• Must be able to work flexible hours

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• HS Diploma or Equivalent
• Must have at least 2 years of vocational training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC or plumbing or any combination
• Must possess a specific certification in a skilled trade or system
• Experience performing Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on equipment
• Professional Painting experience is a plus
• Commercial Carpentry experience is a plus

Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to pass a Federal Aviation Administration background check
• Must be able to pass a drug test
• Lives within a 30-min drive to the Boston Logan International Airport

Working Conditions: Positions requires prolonged standing, walking on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in using a computer keyboard and certain tools. The position also requires near and far vision when performing tasks such as inspections and repair work, in reading written work-related documents and using a computer. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal customer service. The need to lift, drag, carry and push equipment, tools and supplies up to 75 pounds is also required. Additionally, the incumbent may be exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards, loud noise, and inclement weather conditions, such as wet, heat and cold. The nature of the work also requires the incumbent to climb ladders.
