Job summary

Americold Logistics, LLC. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform routine repairs throughout our warehouse. You will handle doors, dock levelers, HVAC, and sprinkler systems while following OSHA standards.

Qualified candidates have at least 2 years in industrial maintenance, with skills in electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry. Experience in cold storage is a plus and on-call work is expected.

Qualifications

• Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry.
• Knowledge of equipment used in maintenance trades.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Under general supervision, you will work independently to perform routine general maintenance and repairs throughout the warehouse including doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, roofing, and HVAC systems.

Essential Functions

• Perform repairs and adjustments on doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, and electrical components in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on roofing systems, and office and break room HVAC systems.
• Inspect and test operating equipment and safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
• Test, maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
• Maintain tools, machinery, batteries, and chargers in good working condition and use equipment as instructed.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records.
• Perform routine maintenance on external equipment and grounds including snow removal, painting, and paving repairs.
• Work flexible shifts as required, including on-call assignments, and respond to security alarm calls as needed.
• Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What Experience and Education You Need

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience, OR equivalent technical or vocational certification in lieu of experience.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry.
• Knowledge of various types of equipment in maintenance trades.

What Could Set You Apart

• Experience working in a cold storage environment.
• Vocational or technical certification and/or training preferred.
• Familiarity with Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Physical Requirements

• Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold and precipitation).
• Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.
• Able to work in confined areas.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs.
• Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.
• Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)
• Depending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.
• Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
• Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.
