Job summary

Americold Logistics LLC in Rochelle, IL is seeking a Warehouse Maintenance Support to observe, learn, and assist with repairs and maintenance across doors, dock levelers, racks, equipment, and electrical work, following OSHA standards.

You will participate in training, maintain records, perform safety tests, and support housekeeping while helping with flexible shifts and readiness for HAZMAT training if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required.
• Mathematical and documentation skills required.
• Basic computer skills including email, internet searches, and data entry.
• HAZMAT responder training may be expected.

Responsibilities

• Observe, learn, and assist with basic repairs and adjustments of warehouse equipment and systems in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Attend and participate in all assigned training sessions as directed.
• Clean, change, and lubricate machinery parts using appropriate tools.
• Maintain tools, machinery, and shop areas in clean and operational condition.
• Conduct tests of safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and assist with answering security alarm calls as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties and keep work areas organized as required.
• Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

What You’ll Do

You will observe, learn, and assist with basic repairs and maintenance tasks throughout the warehouse including doors, dock levelers, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work in accordance with OSHA standards. You will participate in assigned training, maintain tools and machinery, conduct safety equipment tests, and keep accurate preventive maintenance records while performing housekeeping duties as required.

What Experience and Education You Need

• May be expected to participate in HAZMAT responder training.

Physical Requirements

• Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
• Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.
• Able to work in confined areas.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs.
• Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
• Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.
• Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
• Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)
• Depending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.
• Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
• Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
• Able to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.

The Company’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $21.25 to $26.75 hourly. Rates may vary based on location.
