Job summary

Covenant Health's Fort Sanders West in Knoxville is seeking a Facility Services Technician who performs maintenance and repair duties under limited supervision. The role covers extensive tasks across building systems, fixtures, and space upkeep to ensure safe, well-maintained facilities for members and staff.

Responsibilities include completing daily work orders, using tools like table saws and drill presses, and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC and boilers.

Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in building/plant maintenance operations.
• Valid Tennessee driver's license and state mandated insurance coverage.
• Preference may be given to individuals graduating from a trade or vocational school.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily work order assignments.
• Works with construction equipment including table saws, drill press, and all small hand tools.
• Performs facility maintenance tasks, including but not limited to acoustical ceilings, metal stud walls, sheetrock and millwork installation, painting, lighting, repairs, furniture installation, window repair, minor plumbing, door frame and hardware installations, minor flooring repairs.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as HVAC, boilers, etc.
• Surveys facilities to find maintenance needs and set priorities.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of personally assigned tools and equipment as well as general department equipment.
• Responds to emergency requests for maintenance after normal working hours.
• Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.
• Responsible for documentation and record keeping of all work performed.
• Local travel required.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
