Job summary

Silvercrest of Urbana in Urbana, Ohio is seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Director in keeping the facility safe, clean, and comfortable for residents, staff, and visitors.

You will perform routine maintenance, basic repairs, painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks, assist with inspections, and help keep records, supplies, and equipment organized. This role requires a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, construction, handyman, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine building and equipment maintenance.
• Complete general repairs and upkeep throughout the facility.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
• Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and inspections.
• Perform basic painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and other general maintenance tasks as appropriate.
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Assist with groundskeeping, seasonal upkeep, and snow/ice removal as needed.
• Help maintain maintenance records, supplies, and equipment.
• Follow all facility safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Support the Maintenance Director with projects and other assigned duties.
