Job summary

Parkway Chevrolet Inc. in Tomball, TX is seeking an experienced operations professional to oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of our facility and assets at the dealership.

You will perform general building repairs, painting, basic plumbing/electrical tasks, and upkeep to keep the property attractive and safe for customers and staff. A high school diploma or GED and at least five years of relevant experience are preferred, with own basic hand tools required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, with five years of related maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of facility and assets.
• Implement preventative maintenance plan for building and equipment.
• Maintain lighting systems, bulbs, and ballasts.
• Assist operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
• Perform general interior/exterior maintenance (hang items, repair furniture, maintain dealership exterior).
• Handle minor plumbing repairs.
• Complete special tasks (locksmith work and other maintenance).
• Move furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues.
• Adhere to safety procedures and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Document work performed and materials used.

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Commercial painting experience is required (internal and external)
• Implement preventative maintenance plan
• Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
• Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
• General interior/exterior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems, and maintain exterior look of the dealership.
• Minor plumbing repairs
• Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to locksmith work, and general maintenance as assigned.
• Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot any issues.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to comply with all Policies & Procedures.
• Work independently with little to no supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, have a minimum of five years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, and commercial painting
• High school diploma or GED equivalent

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft., possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and have excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written. Candidate must possess and provide own basic hand tools required to perform assigned work scope, while other tools and equipment are provided.
