Facility Maintenance Technician

The Position
As a Maintenance Technician you set the foundation for us to fulfill our duty of keeping a clean, well-maintained club. Although the maintenance team's daily focus is to ensure proper operation of all club areas and equipment to provide a safe experience for our members, this particular role will be focused on building maintenance for our clubs located in San Clemente, Tustin, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Placenta, and Garden Grove. Requirements
- Maintenance: 2 years
- Handyman experience: 1 year
- General experience in repair/maintenance of equipment and physical building
- General knowledge of HVAC and/or electrical equipment
- 2 years experience in operations/maintenance
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, analytical problem solving, and communication skills
- General understanding of computer skills, including email, excel, and digital maintenance logs
- Previous experience in health club maintenance
- Must have reliable transportation
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Must be able to work in environments with occasionally high noise levels; weights clinking, feet pounding treadmills, energetic music, and the laughter of lives changing can get loud.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Daily duties include lifting weights or equipment, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing a ladder, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods, and moving for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to move fitness equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to various chemicals, cleaning supplies, and grease/oil from exercise equipment, dust/debris/vapors/etc from building and repair materials.
Responsibilities
Your daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Partnering with the Regional Facility Maintenance Manager and each location's General Manager to discuss club maintenance needs and repair timelines
- Conducting walk-throughs and walk-arounds of the facility, identifying repair/service needs, and maintaining the club's Maintenance Log
- Performing routine maintenance such as fixing structural damage, window, door, or wall repair
- Repairing plumbing issues to prevent water damage and restore fixtures
- Working on electrical wiring when issues occur
- Maintaining HVAC equipment for proper climate control
- Applying preventative measures to reduce future problems
- Fixing safety hazards to prevent injuries
- Painting the building when paint is faded or chipped
- Procuring repair parts, materials, tools, and equipment
- Performing OSHA safety checks and adhering to safety guidelines
- Interacting with members to enhance their club experience
The Location
SIR Fitness is based in Southern California with 11 franchise locations including 6 clubs in Orange County and 5 in San Diego: Vista, Oceanside, Eastlake, Carmel Valley, and University Square. This role focuses on building and gym equipment maintenance in these clubs, which feature top-tier strength and cardio equipment, functional training zones, group fitness studios, and more.
