Job summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician at AAON, Inc. will oversee the upkeep of the facility, including infrastructure, machinery, and equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with trade certification in Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, or Sheet Metal.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial or facility maintenance.
  • Preferred: current material handling certification, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance, journeyman licensing.

Job Summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the facility, including its infrastructure, machinery, and equipment. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs to ensure the facility's optimal functioning.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conducts regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance issues.
  • Performs routine maintenance such as system checks, plumbing repairs, and electrical system inspections.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment, including but not limited to, pumps, motors, generators, and other machinery.
  • Coordinates with external vendors for specialized equipment repairs.
  • Responds promptly to emergency maintenance requests and issues to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnoses and resolves urgent problems to ensure the safety and functionality of the facility.
  • Develops and implements a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity of equipment and systems.
  • Keeps detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Performs basic carpentry work, including repairing doors, windows, and walls.
  • Addresses building maintenance issues, such as leaks, structural damage, or general wear and tear.
  • Maintains the exterior of the facility, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot maintenance.
  • Ensures that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Participates in safety training programs and promotes a safe working environment.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments, management, and external contractors.
  • Reports on the status of maintenance activities and provides recommendations for improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and certification in a skilled maintenance trade (e.g., Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal) with a minimum of 1 year experience in industrial maintenance, facility maintenance, or construction.

Preferred qualifications include current material handling certification, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance, or any journeyman/trades licensing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and preventive maintenance software.
  • Working knowledge of equipment controls and NESC, UL/ETL (including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with others.
Work Environment
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 95% of the normal work shift.
  • Ability to work in, on top of, and around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work on lifts at heights.
  • Required to wear proper personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing facilities and regularly be exposed to varying and extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects and heavy forklift traffic.
  • This position is designated as a safety-sensitive job and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.
