Job summary

Great Dane LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical and mechanical repairs on facility equipment, including cranes, hoists, conveyors, and related systems. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and focuses on preventative maintenance and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in industrial tech or related field, 2+ years in industrial maintenance, and experience with 480V 3-phase systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial technology, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, HVAC or related program.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing machinery including pumps, motors, gearboxes, fans, cranes and hoists.
• Experience with 480V 3-phase electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs conveyor systems, overhead cranes, dock locks and levelers, pumps, piping, seals and valves.
• Performs lighting system repairs in industrial settings.
• Hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs at basic/intermediate level.
• Carry out basic and intermediate tooling changes.
• Repair office fixtures and hardware; maintain floors and walls.
• Maintain facility structures, walkways, and roadways.
• Safely operate forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Navigate CMMS Maximo to update work orders.

The Position: The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, electrical/mechanical repairs on facilities related equipment, performing electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance and inspections of cranes and hoists, performs repairs on facilities related equipment such as cranes, conveyors, hoists, jibs, and other facility equipment.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Troubleshoots and repairs conveyor systems, overhead cranes, dock locks and levelers, pumps, piping, seals and valves, and material handling
• Performs industrial and commercial lighting system repairs.
• Basic and intermediate hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs
• Basic and intermediate tooling changes
• Performs office furniture, window, door, and hardware repairs. Repairs floor and wall coverings.
• Maintains and repairs facility structures, walkways, and roadways.
• Safely operates forklift equipment, hoists, and cranes.
• Perform basic intermediate electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Ability to navigate CMMS system – Maximo

Qualifications

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS)

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical/mechanical issues on cranes, jibs, and hoists.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing conveyor systems.
• Associate degree in industrial technology, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, HVAC or related program.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, cranes and hoists, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, overhead doors, and service doors,
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and working safely with 480v 3 phase electrical components.
• Basic understanding of PLC’s and low voltage controls.
• Experience with maintaining basic plumbing needs.
• High school graduate or demonstrated equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial manufacturing facility or similar environment.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Can regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Can regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
• Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.
• Can regularly kneel repetitive for shift.
• Can move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Can stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.
• Can walk extensively throughout the plant for shift.
• Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Must wear steel-toed safety shoes, safety glasses and gloves.

• Employees must wear all mandated PPE which includes, at a minimum, protection for the eyes, ears, hands, head, body, and feet.
