Job summary

Walters Recycling and Refuse Inc. in Minnesota seeks a dependable Facility Maintenance Technician to keep our facility safe, clean, and compliant through preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting. Core hours are Mon/Wed/Fri 6:00 AM–5:30 PM; some Saturdays may be required.

Must pass drug tests and possess a valid MN driver’s license. The role involves operating various equipment, assisting with public drop operations, and maintaining overall cleanliness, with strong safety policy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of loader, heavy equipment, or operations experience preferred.
• Conveyor belt system knowledge preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Clean driving record and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Complete light preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and other equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas throughout the facility.
• Assist with snow removal, salting, sweeping, pressure washing, and seasonal grounds maintenance as needed.
• Clean and perform light maintenance in confined spaces.
• Operate a skid loader, scissor lift, and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues as needed.
• Pick up litter around the facility to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure purity of outbound loads.
• Work with vendors and customers to maintain all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the public drop area.
• Assist the general public with drop-off activities.
• Adhere to all opening and closing procedures.
• Adhere to all SOPs and permit requirements to ensure 100% compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
