Job summary

Comparative Biosciences, INC, a member of Genesis Global Group, seeks a competent Facilities Technician in Sunnyvale, CA to perform general maintenance, cleaning, and shipping/receiving. You will supervise vendors, inspect equipment, and ensure safety standards while coordinating with other departments.

A valid CA driver’s license and strong verbal/written English are required. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, manage equipment repairs, and help with conference

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOPs
• Effective verbal and written communication in English
• Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliances
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and building codes
• Experience with hand tools and power tools
• Hazardous materials handling experience desired
• Must have PPE knowledge related to chemical and electrical hazards
• Safety conscious with excellent safety record
• Good organizational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work with other departments
• CA Driver’s License with good driving record (employment condition)

Responsibilities

Summary

Perform or arrange for general building and fixture repairs. Supervise outside contractors. Keep the building in a clean and orderly condition by examining the building on a regular basis for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness including janitorial duties. In charge of shipping and receiving.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general facility maintenance and cleaning including janitorial duties
• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Assess problems and repair equipment as able
• Manage and coordinate vendor visits for necessary maintenance
• Monitors landscaping, common area, and parking facilities
• Conducts the physical movement of furniture, equipment, and materials as needed for conference room set-ups, facility events, and employee relocation
• Propose solutions to address equipment issues, improve efficiencies, reduce cost, and address safety issues
• Shipping and receiving
• Performs other related work as required
• Work in an efficient and timely manner with minimal supervision

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma
• Must be able to read and follow written manuals and SOPs

• Possess a strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and basic HVAC
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and building codes
• Experience with use of hand tools and power tools
• Hazardous materials handling experience is desired
• Must have knowledge and experience with personal protective equipment related to chemical and electrical hazards
• Must be safety conscious and have excellent safety record
• Have good organizational skills
• Possess basic computer skills
• Ability to establish good working relationships with other departments
• Must have a valid CA Driver’s License with a good driving record (condition of employment)

Physical Demands

• Activities may require standing for extended periods.

Activities may require sitting and working at a task or computer for extended periods Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to climb straight up vertical ladders and enter confined spaces

Work is predominantly performed on company site. Traveling by company vehicle or in a personal vehicle may be necessary often to run errands, accomplish training or business interests.
