Job summary

FNBO is seeking a Facility Engineer for its FNN Data Centers. This role monitors electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and data center systems, performs inspections, and supports uptime and preventive maintenance to keep critical operations running smoothly.

You will collaborate with the engineering team, supervise vendors and contractors, respond to emergencies on a regular rotation, and ensure compliance with bank policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and on demand repair of building systems and property maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems used in a data center environment (e.g., Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDU/RPP).
  • Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment (UPS, HVAC, generators, and facilities).
  • Monitor meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting using tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Report and resolve technical issues identified within the Data Center.
  • Monitor and evaluate data center performance, including power consumption and ambient temperature.
  • Keep technical documentation up-to-date (manuals, diagrams, maintenance records).
  • Monitor Work Orders and respond to tickets within SLA times.
  • Communicate with team, vendors, and customers to provide status updates on Work Orders.
  • Supervise vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance and security standards.
  • Continuously evaluate data center for efficiency improvements.
  • Interior and exterior building maintenance project oversight.
  • Work with Engineer Team to remove snow.
  • Be on-call after hours for emergencies; company cellular phone provided.
  • Perform other duties; ensure on-demand and preventive maintenance work orders are completed to standard.
  • Ensure work complies with established guidelines for FNN properties.
  • Respond to emergencies; summon additional help as needed.
  • Develop and maintain customer-focused relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent customer service while complying with policies.
  • Inspect work performed by outside contractors.
  • Participate in project planning/construction meetings and project execution.
  • Escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain and develop best-in-class processes and procedures.
  • Assist Property Manager/Chief Engineer in budget and Five Year Equipment Replacement Plans.
  • Utilize ordering system to maintain inventory and order materials.
  • Complete maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes.
  • Understand and comply with bank policies, laws, and regulations; adhere to BSA/AML program.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal controls.
  • Comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives; report policy violations.
  • Report suspicious activity; exhibit professional behavior.
  • Complete special projects within deadlines.

About This Role

Facility Engineers at the FNN Data Centers monitor and support physical conditions including; electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and Data Center operations. Data Center duties will include heating and cooling of air and water systems, power supply, generators, UPS systems, electrical distribution and control and monitoring systems. Perform inspections of and maintain various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. Conduct daily conditional assessment tours of systems, assess their working order, and gather data points. Manage the uptime and maintenance of water pumps and chemical treatment systems, HVAC and controls, and monitoring systems. Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facility systems and equipment. Assist with equipment replacement plans and inventory management.

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and on demand repair of building systems, equipment and property maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems used in a data center environment (e.g., Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/RPP units).
  • Ensure proper maintenance of critical data center equipment Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), HVAC systems, generators, and physical facilities conditions .
  • Knowledge of meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, digital metering, or calibration/diagnostic equipment.
  • Report and resolve technical issues identified within the Data Center.
  • Monitor and evaluate data center performance, including power consumption, ambient temperature and other critical factors affecting data center operation.
  • Keep technical documentation of the data center up-to-date and accessible to include user manuals, diagrams, and maintenance records.
  • Monitor Work Orders and ensure all customer tickets and responded to within required SLA times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, vendors and end customers to receive and provide status updates to ensure all stakeholders are informed through completion of Work Order Request.
  • Supervise vendors and contractors working in the data center, ensuring compliance and security standards.
  • Continuously evaluate the data center for opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

  • Ability to be on-call after normal business hours to support emergency calls on a regular rotation or as needed based on business needs. A company cellular phone will be provided to monitor system outages and/or equipment failures requiring your response for corrective action.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
  • Effectively manage the process of accurately and timely creation and capture of assigned on-demand and preventative maintenance work orders that are completed in a quality manner for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all work is completed in a manner consistent with established guidelines for FNN properties.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a strong customer focus for internal and external customer and vendor relationships.
  • Provide excellent customer service while complying with company policies.
  • Inspects the work performed by outside contractors.
  • Participate in project planning/construction meetings and execution of projects.
  • Escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain and develop "best-in-class" process and procedures supportive of organizational goals.
  • Assist Property Manager and/or Chief Engineer in creating and managing annual budgets and Five Year Equipment Replacement Plans.
  • Utilize ordering system to maintain inventory of adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to complete all tasks.
  • Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Provide input to and/or identify continuous improvement initiatives for process enhancements.
  • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties.
  • Complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls, as required.
  • Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations.
  • Report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
  • Exhibit professional behavior and promote positive working relationships
  • Complete special projects as assigned within allotted time frames.
