Job summary

Watts Water Technologies in Groveport, OH is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist to support the Distribution Center’s day-to-day operations. On-site, first-shift role focused on building repairs, equipment upkeep, and safety compliance.

You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance, coordinate with vendors, maintain records, and assist with safety and fire system inspections. Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and independence are essential.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and hands-on experience in a distribution/warehouse maintenance environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Ability to read and understand English and document maintenance actions.
  • Experience with safe maintenance practices and ability to operate or be certified on MHE is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, maintain, and repair building structures, floors, ceilings, cabinets, and related facility components.
  • Perform preventive and reactive maintenance across the Distribution Center.
  • Maintain forklift battery stations and related upkeep.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and improvements.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and support quotes and parts ordering.
  • Respond to emergencies and support fire safety inspections.

This role is onsite and is based in Groveport, OH.First Shift Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. (over time as needed on front end of shift).Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesConstruct, maintain, and repair building structures, walls, floors, ceilings, cabinets, furniture, and related facility components.Perform preventative and reactive maintenance activities throughout the Distribution Center facility.Maintain forklift battery charging stations, including battery watering and general upkeep activities.Build, rebuild, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment according to specifications, drawings, or sketches to ensure equipment is operating effectively and safely.Maintain maintenance records and logs related to repairs, inspections, and completed work.Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for facility repairs, maintenance, and improvement projects.Request, review, and support quotes for building improvements and maintenance-related services.Order parts and materials from third-party electrical and mechanical suppliers.Perform security checks of the premises as required by authorized personnel.Respond to emergency call-ins and facility-related issues as required.Support fire safety, sprinkler system inspections, and emergency response activities.Operate material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures and training requirements.Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards at all times.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of previous maintenance experience in a distribution, warehouse, or production environment.Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude and experience.Ability to read, write, and understand English.Basic computer skills to support maintenance-related activities and documentation.Ability to obtain required fall arrest/fall protection training and certification for operation of elevated equipment.Ability to operate or become certified on material handling equipment utilized within the warehouse.Previous training or experience related to lockout/tagout (LOTO), cranes, hoists, or hazardous materials handling is considered essential to the role.Good verbal communication skills with all departments, contractors, and external vendors.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Preferred QualificationsPost-secondary education in a mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or related field is considered an asset.Previous experience negotiating and coordinating vendors and contractors is considered an asset.General Applicable Company CompetenciesCommitment to Watts’ values of integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and innovation, and transparency.Punctuality and dependability.Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing work priorities and stressful conditions.Adherence to all personnel policies, procedures, and standards of process as implemented by Watts.Maintain productive and collaborative relationships with other Watts employees.Adherence to Watts’ seven cultural beliefs: Growth Mindset, Customer-Focused Innovation, Constant Communication, Clear Goals, Collaborate Globally, Be Inclusive, and Take Action.Working ConditionsWhile performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility.
