Job summary

County of Dare is seeking a Facilities/Maintenance worker to maintain, build, and replace county signs and related items. The role includes handling wood signs, nameplates, street signs, mailboxes, and posts, and working on county vehicles under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Knowledge of county operations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to operate computers and software related to essential functions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, build and replace county signs and related items.
• Repair damages caused by Dare County vehicles.
• Transport county voting equipment and secure it.
• Perform carpentry, concrete work, moving, painting, plumbing and general maintenance.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.
