Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to ensure hospital facility reliability. The role covers testing and maintaining EPSS, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related systems, while supporting routines like carpentry, groundskeeping, and general maintenance.

The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and light construction tasks, with readiness to work evenings or weekends if needed and to comply with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and/or construction is required.
• Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Licensing in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely test and operate emergency power supply systems (EPSS) and components.
• Install, maintain, repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frames under supervisor direction.
• Maintain a broad knowledge of facility systems and regulatory standards.
• Plan, inspect, and document work; report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform building construction and equipment overhaul within required time frames.
• Handle hazardous materials safely and follow safety protocols.
