Job summary

Safety-Kleen in Metairie, LA is seeking a Facility Maintenance Manager II to lead the maintenance department and ensure safe, reliable operations across electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.

You will supervise multiple trades, uphold health and safety standards, review SOPs, and drive continuous improvement for packaging lines and control platforms. 4+ years of trade/plant experience and 2+ years of supervision are required; engineering background preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, from production to management, required.
  • Engineering background preferred.
  • Strong customer service focus with ability to assure customer confidence in operation of equipment, required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical/pneumatic schematics, required.
  • Proficiency in Instrumentation and Electrical trades, required.
  • 4+ years of specific trade or plant-related experience, required.
  • 2+ years of management experience, required.
  • Experience in blending and packaging industry, preferred.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting PLC motion control software and hardware including servo drives, preferred.
  • Experience working with HMIs and programmable controllers, preferred.
  • Background in project management as an asset, preferred.

  • Manages maintenance department functions: Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Mechanical.
  • Ensures proper preventative mechanical, electrical and software skills.
  • Supports various software control platforms for complete package lines.
  • Assembles components and parts as required by manufacturers.
  • Extensive knowledge of plant electrical equipment and applications.
  • Manages inventory of spare/critical parts and ensures SOP compliance.

Safety-Kleen, in Metairie, LA, is looking for a Facility Maintenance Manager II to join their safety-focused team! This team lead oversees all maintenance activities at the facility and is responsible for managing the various functions of the maintenance department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures Health & Safety is the #1 priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Responsible for managing various functions of the maintenance department, including, but not limited to Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Mechanical;
  • Assures proper preventative mechanical, electrical and software skills;
  • Ability to support various software control platforms for complete package lines;
  • Ability to assemble components and parts as required by manufacturers;
  • Extensive working knowledge of all plant electrical equipment and applications;
  • Knowledge of inventory management for spare/critical parts;
  • Ensures that work meets all applicable Health & Safety Standard Operating Procedures, holding employees accountable;
  • Reviews all applicable SOPs and ensures work meets compliance standards;
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Background in Engineering - preferred;

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the following trades: Instrumentation and Electrical - required;
  • 4+ years of specific trade or plant-related experience - required;
  • 2+ years of management experience - required;
  • Experience in blending and packaging industry - preferred;
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting PLC motion control software and hardware including experience in repair/maintenance of capital equipment or electronics such as servo drives - preferred;
  • Experience working with HMI's and programmable controllers - preferred;
  • Background in project management as an asset - preferred;
