JOB SUMMARYUnder the direction of the Recreation Maintenance Supervisor the Facility Maintenance Coordinator assists in the maintenance and upkeep of City Parks & Recreation facilities and equipment in compliance with established safety specifications. This is including but not limited to the new ice park, sports complexes, aquatic facility and future Recreation Center.
WINTER SCHEDULE: Wednesday – Saturday; 8:30am – 7pm
SUMMER SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5pm
- Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of parks, recreation facilities, and sports complexes, with a focus on the Ice Park, Public Pool and future Recreation Center.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including turf maintenance, field setup, and general repairs to ensure safety and optimal play conditions.
- Assist with the setup and takedown of equipment, signage, and other materials for special events and recreation programs.
- Repair and coordinate scheduled maintenance for the City of Holland Parks and Recreation facilities.
- Conduct snow removal at recreation facilities, including parking lots, walkways, and outdoor activity areas.
- Help maintain seasonal recreation amenities such as sledding hills and ski trails.
- Participate in groundskeeping tasks, including tree trimming and general landscaping duties.
- Perform minor preventative maintenance and repairs to irrigation systems, equipment, and facilities as needed.
- Support operations by conducting regular inspections of parks and facilities to identify and address potential issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- HiLo License or the ability to obtain in the first year of employment.
- The ability to work independently effectively.
- Proficiency in or ability to learn and work with various software applications.
- Three years of experience with building maintenance.
- Experience with or ability to learn the maintenance, operation, and upkeep of refrigerated ice rink systems.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with the public providing exceptional customer service.
- Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to fulfilling schedule requirements and simultaneously managing multiple projects.
- Physical ability to frequently lift/push/pull/transport equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to frequently bend/stoop/crawl to accommodate different working positions.
- Pesticide applicators certification (Core Exam, 3A & 6) or the ability to obtain in the first year of employment.
- Work includes outside working conditions with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions.
- Work includes frequent exposure to fumes, odors, dust, dirt, noise, moving objects, and contact with hazardous materials.
