Job summary

Heat & Controls Limited in Galesburg, IL, is seeking a skilled maintenance electrician responsible for maintaining and inspecting our equipment, buildings and property. This role includes electrical work up to 480V and repair of electrical systems across refrigeration, HVAC, kitchen equipment, plumbing, and water treatment.

You will read schematics, use power and hand tools, comply with OSHA and NEC, interface with safety authorities, and process SAP purchase requisitions for repair items.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical degree required.
• Journeyman Electrician certification/qualification.
• 5–7 years of maintenance and electrical experience.
• Experience with low voltage and high voltage (480V) equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA and National Electrical Code requirements.
• Valid Illinois driver's license with clean record.
• Experience with overhead cranes and welding equipment.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Keep parking lot and sidewalks free of ice or hazards.
• Read assembly instructions, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical schematics and blueprints.

• Work on electrical circuits and motors.
• Follow building codes and regulations; interface with OSHA as needed.
• Create purchase requisitions in SAP for repairs and approve invoices.

Maintain and inspect company equipment, buildings and property; assure repair of property. This includes electrical work for low voltage devices up to and including 480V equipment and machines.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintenance of our organization’s physical operations including refrigeration, heating and a/c, kitchen equipment, plumbing, water and waste treatment and electrical systems.
• Keep parking lot and sidewalks free of ice or hazards.
• Read assembly instructions, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Use power, pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools.
• Work on electrical circuits, and motors.
• Know city and state building codes and local, state and federal regulations.
• Interface with OSHA as needed. Prepare reports as required.
• Creates purchase requisitions using SAP for all repair items and approve service invoices.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Technical Degree.
• Journeyman Electrician.
• Minimum 5-7 years maintenance and electrical experience.
• Experience with low voltage and high voltage (480V) equipment.
• Knowledge of OSHA and National Electrical Code requirements.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and lift up to 40 pounds.
