Job summary

FFE-Transportation-Services, Inc. in Lithonia, GA seeks a Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain a temperature-controlled LTL warehouse, ensuring safe and efficient operations for time-sensitive freight.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently.
• Comfortable working in cold storage environments (refrigerated and freezer conditions).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on dock doors, levelers, seals, and restraints.
• Electrical, plumbing, and lighting system maintenance and repairs.
• Concrete repairs, racking repairs/adjustments.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairs.
• Maintain facility safety standards, including OSHA compliance and hazard prevention.
• Conduct daily facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns.
• Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance documentation.
• Support emergency repairs and be available for on-call situations as needed.
• Assist with facility upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Position Summary

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of a temperature-controlled LTL warehouse facility. This role ensures all building systems, dock equipment, and material handling systems operate reliably to support time-sensitive freight in a climate-controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on:
• Dock doors, levelers, seals, and restraints
• Electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems
• Concrete repairs, racking repairs/adjustments
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairs
• Maintain facility safety standards, including OSHA compliance and hazard prevention
• Conduct daily facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns

Working Conditions

• Frequent exposure to cold and freezer environments (as low as -10°F)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, standing)
