Job summary

Sandridge Crafted Foods in Morton, IL is seeking a detail-oriented Janitorial/Custodial Associate to maintain a clean, safe facility across production, office, and common areas. The role requires adherence to safety and quality programs and the ability to operate cleaning equipment.

This on-site position supports production through timely cleaning tasks and supply restocking. Candidates should be able to work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed, with a focus on high cleanliness

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Prior janitorial, custodial, or facility cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work on feet for extended periods.

• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other cleaning equipment safely.
• Follow proper procedures and use of approved chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the FSQA Manager.
• Assist with minor facility repairs and upkeep as directed.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings or events.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supply levels and notify supervisor of shortages.

Job description

Position Purpose:

To maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and minor upkeep of building areas, restrooms, offices, and production spaces under the supervision of the FSQA Manager

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, locker rooms, and office areas daily.

• Clean windows, walls, doors, and fixtures as scheduled.
• Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in restrooms and breakrooms.
• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, and other cleaning equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow proper procedures and use of approved chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility damage to the FSQA Manager.
• Assist with minor facility repairs and upkeep as directed.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings or events as needed.
• Monitor and maintain adequate levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of shortages.
• Comply with all safety, sanitation, and company policies at all times.
• Highly detail oriented with good organizational skills.
• Can perform with minimal supervision.
• Be able to work in a production-based environment and adhere to facility procedures.
• Complete other miscellaneous duties as they are assigned and/or arise.

Qualifications for Position (Experience, Education and Licensure):

Minimum (required):

• Education – High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required
• Prior janitorial, custodial, or facility cleaning experience preferred

• None

Measurements of Performance:

Facility cleanliness audit scores, timely completion of assigned cleaning schedules, safety compliance, and supervisor feedback will be utilized as a method to measure individual performance.

Travel Requirements:

Overnight Travel – not required

Overnight Travel – sporadic - required

Overnight Travel – 20% or greater – required

Overnight Travel – valid passport required for international travel

Essential Competencies:

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete assigned cleaning schedules
• Knowledge of proper use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums
• Capable of following written and verbal cleaning schedules and safety procedures
• Ability to identify and report facility maintenance or safety issues
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift supplies (up to 40 lbs) for extended periods
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
