Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Part-Time Float Pool RN (24 hours/week) to provide patient care across units with emphasis on safety and nursing standards.
The role requires 1 year of acute care experience (last 12 months preferred), an RN license in the hiring state or a compact license, and BLS certification. Physical demands include lifting and prolonged standing consistent with nursing duties.

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Facility Float Pool RN Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO Department: Float Pool Status: Part-Time - 24 hours/week Shift: 12 Hour Days
Qualifications: Experience: 1 year of nursing experience in acute care, preferred. Six months of this experience should be within the last year.
Required Education: Graduate of a state approved professional nurse program.
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
Other: Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
