Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Facility Excavator Operator at our La Porte, TX facility. You will operate a mid-size excavator to stabilize shredded non-hazardous material into a solid state and fill roll-off boxes. Outdoor environment with scanning and inventory duties.

Salary ranges from $26 to $28 per hour DOE. Training on day shift precedes evening shift; 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, Monday–Friday with overtime as needed. Benefits start after 30 days of full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years’ experience operating excavators.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operates mid-size excavator to stabilize shredded material.
• Moves roll-off boxes and uses roll-off truck as needed.
• Performs scanning and inventory management tasks.
• Completes daily checklists for equipment.
• Completes required waste tracking paperwork.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Facility Excavator Operator for their La Porte, TX facility. As an Excavator Operator at this facility, you will be responsible for operating a mid-size excavator to stabilize shredded non-hazardous material into a solid state and then filling roll off boxes; moving boxes using a roll off truck; scanning and inventory management. This is an outdoor position.

Pay: $26-$28 DOE. Once on 2nd shift will get $1.75/HR for shift diff.

Shift: 2:30 pm-11:00 pm. Monday-Friday. OT and Saturdays as needed. Rotating weekends is required.

Training: Day shift 6:30 am-3:00 pm for several weeks.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
• Operates one of the following: primarily mid size excavators but at times may need to operate trucks to move roll off bins around or forklifts.
• Scanning and inventory management will be a required part of this job, as this is not just an equipment operating role.
• Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated.
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
• 1+ years’ experience operating excavators.
• Roll of truck experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience a plus.Ability to use a laptop and knowledge of Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook) as well as willing to learn Clean Harbors programs.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditionsis required.
