Job summary

Clean Harbors in La Porte, TX is seeking a Facility Excavator Operator to operate a mid-size excavator, stabilize shredded material, and assist with roll-off box filling. The role includes scanning, inventory management, and outdoor work in varied weather.

Shift is 2:30pm-11:00pm, Monday-Friday with OT on Saturdays. Training on day shift before transitioning. Pay ranges from $26-28/hour DOE, with $1.75/hour shift differential on 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required.
• 1+ years' experience operating excavators.
• Roll off truck experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience a plus; ability to use a laptop and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn Clean Harbors programs.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates mid-size excavators as primary; may operate roll off bins, trucks, or forklifts as needed.
• Supports scanning and inventory management as part of job duties.
• Completes daily checklist for proper operation of the unit.
• Completes and submits paperwork for waste tracking movements.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Clean Harbors is seeking a Facility Excavator Operator for their La Porte, TX facility. As an Excavator Operator at this facility, you will be responsible for operating a mid-size excavator to stabilize shredded non-hazardous material into a solid state and then filling roll off boxes; moving boxes using a roll off truck; scanning and inventory management. This is an outdoor position.

Shift: 2:30pm-11:00pm. Monday-Friday. OT and Saturdays as needed. Rotating weekends is required.

Training: Day shift 6:30am-3:00pm for several weeks.

Pay: $26-28 DOE. Once on 2nd shift will get $1.75/HR for shift diff

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Operates one of the following: primarily mid size excavators but at times may need to operate trucks to move roll off bins around or forklifts;
• Scanning and inventory management will be a required part of this job, as this is not just an equipment operating role;
• Completes daily checklist as required for proper operation of the unit being operated;
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements;
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
