Job summary

Corning Incorporated invites motivated students to join a 10‑week Summer 2027 Facility Engineering Internship in Corning, NY. You will gain hands-on experience supporting maintenance, design, and improvement projects within facility operations, working closely with a dedicated engineering team to ensure safe, efficient systems.

Ideal candidates are pursuing degrees in Facility, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering and have a strong interest in operations, project management, and CAD

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited program entering Junior or Senior year pursuing a degree in Facility Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in facility operations, engineering systems, and project management.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles, building systems, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical).
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians on facility improvement projects.
• Monitor building performance and energy efficiency; propose optimization solutions.
• Gather data for facility-related projects (equipment upgrades, space utilization).
• Create and update engineering documentation (CAD drawings, schematics, manuals, reports).
• Support preventive maintenance by tracking schedules and repairs.
• Assist in ensuring safety and environmental regulation compliance.
