Overview
The Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for a Facility Engineer to serve as the lead engineer at an assigned test facility and for specific test projects, assisting the project lead engineer and civil servant lead engineer.
TFOME specializes in providing engineering and technical services in aerospace propulsion and power test facilities, emphasizing excellence in service and employee opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide research and technology engineering related to the test facility and test projects, following existing procedures for test engineering.
- Lead test projects from initial customer interactions through requirements development, test concept design, and review stages.
- Support test planning by developing facility interfaces for successful test execution.
- Conduct theoretical analyses, define experimental requirements, design and analyze experiment hardware, support testing, and analyze data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline with at least 5 years' engineering experience.
- Experience in space systems design, testing, and analysis, capable of applying testing experience in space efforts immediately.
- Extensive experience with NASA test facilities and writing related requirements documents.
- Strong project management, leadership, test engineering, quality (ISO 9001), and safety assurance skills.
