Job summary

Walmart is seeking a dedicated cleaner to perform general cleaning in common areas and office spaces at our Olathe facility. You will complete daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal, while adhering to safety procedures and PPE usage.

The role supports safety, efficiency, and cleanliness across all areas. The position emphasizes collaboration with managers and coworkers, prioritization of tasks, and willingness to learn from feedback.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cleaning duties in common areas and office spaces throughout the facility, including bathrooms and windows.
• Completes daily cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting surfaces, cleaning windows, and emptying trash bins.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs, fixing minor leaks, and reporting major maintenance issues to management.
• Follows safety procedures to ensure the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ensures common areas are free from hazards, such as wet floors and cluttered walkways.
• Receives Hepatitis vaccinations in compliance with legal requirements.
• Inspects common areas to identify damage or repair needs and reports issues to management team members.
• Adheres to all company safety procedures and guidelines.
• Uses required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Operates machinery and equipment safely.
• Reports hazards, near misses, injuries, and accidents immediately.
• Actively participates in safety training sessions and drills.
• Maintains cleanliness in work areas to help prevent accidents.
• Contributes to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
• Demonstrates awareness of surroundings to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
• Successfully completes work assignments and prioritizes tasks by utilizing company policies, procedures, and available resources.
• Collaborates effectively with managers, coworkers, and business partners by identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
• Carries out assigned tasks while communicating progress and relevant information.
• Proactively identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement.
• Demonstrates adaptability and a willingness to learn from change, challenges, and feedback.
