Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead Environment of Care (EOC) and safety compliance activities, ensuring plans and reports are completed.
• Conduct monthly EOC rounds and quarterly hospital rounds with interdisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate and document emergency preparedness drills (fire, tornado, etc.).
• Monitor and document safety equipment and inspections on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Manage documentation for Joint Commission and state audits, ensuring readiness.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, DPO, and CFO for sign-off and tracking.
• Oversee central supply, fleet, and staff education related to EOC.

Responsibilities

The Facilities Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of Laurel Heights Hospital. This position supports the Director of Plant Operations and oversees all non-clinical areas of the facility including maintenance, housekeeping, dietary, central supply, and various compliance-related functions tied to accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Environment of Care & Safety Compliance:

• Serve as the Environment of Care (EOC) lead, ensuring all plans, evaluations, and reports are completed monthly and annually
• Conduct monthly EOC rounds and quarterly hospital rounds with interdisciplinary teams
• Coordinate and document emergency preparedness drills (fire, tornado, bomb threat, active shooter, etc.)
• Complete sprinkler mitigation trainings and suicide mitigation checks on a quarterly basis
• Submit all safety documentation and reports to Risk Management, Admin Assistant, and DPO
• Collect and input data from special meal counts, infection control temp logs, and staff meal sheets
• Track documentation for dietary reports as part of the EOC process
• Distribute and track facility keys using key sign-out logs and Excel master list
• Lead quarterly Key Committee meetings with stakeholders (CEO, CFO, HR, Risk, Operations, DPO)
• Address key-related security concerns and coordinate replacement logistics
• Monitor active construction sites for posted ICRAs (Infection Control Risk Assessment)
• Hold and document pre-construction and weekly meetings throughout the project duration
• Confirm signage and safety posting for Code Purple areas

Inspection, Documentation & Reporting:

• Track and inspect fire extinguishers, exit signs, generator power, and other systems on a weekly and monthly basis
• Maintain and organize binders for Joint Commission (JCO) and state audit readiness
• Monitor first aid kits, bloodborne pathogen kits, emergency shears, and eyewash stations
• Process and submit weekly POs for maintenance, dietary, and housekeeping
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable, DPO, and CFO for sign-off and tracking
• Ensure all invoices and maintenance card receipts are reconciled

Additional Duties

Central Supply Oversight:

• Maintain patient hygiene supply inventory and weekly distribution by unit
• Oversee staff cleaning supply availability
• Submit inventory orders and track deliveries

Fleet Management:

• Coordinate vehicle cleaning, servicing, and repairs
• Receive and document incident reports related to company vehicles
• Ensure familiarity with and enforcement of transportation policy

Orientation & Staff Education:

• Lead the Environment of Care portion of new hire orientation monthly
• Provide staff education during Town Hall and through monthly "Moment for Safety" emails

Community Engagement:

• Attend quarterly Region D Healthcare Coalition meetings
• Submit emergency and communications plans as required

Occasional standing, bending, and reaching during inspections or supply handling
