How you make a difference

The Facility Coordinator oversees daily coordination of health care services and supervises assigned medical staff. This role ensures timely access to care by collaborating with custody staff and managing nursing schedules. The coordinator responds to emergencies, reviews grievances, and supports quality assurance processes. Responsibilities include supervising direct reports, conducting evaluations, and assisting with staff orientation and training. The position also requires maintaining compliance with facility procedures and promoting safety standards within the correctional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily health care services, including sick calls, scheduling, and access to care.

Supervise and support nursing staff, conduct evaluations, and oversee training.

Respond to emergencies and grievances while ensuring compliance with procedures.

Manage supplies, perform quality assurance audits, and assist in recruitment and onboarding.

Collaborate with custody staff and leadership to ensure safe, efficient facility operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

EDUCATION

Completion of an accredited school of nursing

EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years of nursing experience

One year of supervisory or administrative experience in the nursing field

Previous correctional/detention facility experience preferred

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Current (and must maintain) nursing license in state of practice

Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA

CCHP certification preferred
