JOB SUMMARY

The Compliance Analyst supports facility and transportation (retail, when needed) operations by monitoring compliance with applicable state and local cannabis laws, regulations, ordinances, license conditions, and company policies. This role performs audits, reviews seed-to-sale and operational data, maintains compliance documentation, supports regulatory reporting and inspections, assists with corrective actions, and partners with cross-functional teams to strengthen consistent, compliant operations across assigned markets.

JOB DUTIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned based on business and regulatory needs.

  • Conduct scheduled, random, virtual, and on-site compliance audits of cultivation, processing, production, and transportation operations.
  • Monitor and audit state-required cannabis tracking systems, including METRC, for inventory accuracy, user permissions, transfers, adjustments, testing activity, and other regulatory interfaces.
  • Review facility logs, forms, records, reports, and supporting documentation to verify that operational activity is complete, accurate, timely, and consistent with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
  • Identify discrepancies, compliance risks, and control gaps; document findings, elevate concerns to appropriate stakeholders, and support timely correction and closure.
  • Support regulatory risk assessments for existing operations, new markets, integrations, expansions, and special projects.
  • Monitor changes to applicable state and local laws and regulations and support timely updates to policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, checklists, forms, training materials, and compliance frameworks.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready compliance records, including regulatory correspondence, reports, filings, submissions, licenses, inspection materials, and corrective action documentation.
  • Support the preparation and submission of recurring regulatory reports, product registration documentation, and other required filings within established deadlines.
  • Prepare facilities for announced and unannounced regulatory inspections by gathering, organizing, and reviewing requested records and verifying readiness of operational areas.
  • Serve as an on-site compliance resource during external audits and inspections and support follow-up on regulator requests, observations, deficiencies, and outstanding items.
  • Assist in developing, tracking, implementing, and validating corrective and preventive actions arising from audits, inspections, incidents, or operational reviews.
  • Collaborate with operations, cultivation, processing, post-production, sales, licensing, legal, human resources, IT, and facility leadership to integrate compliance into daily operations.
  • Provide guidance to facility on compliance expectations, recordkeeping, METRC responsibilities, testing activities, and implementation of approved procedures.
  • Promote a culture of compliance through clear communication, practical guidance, consistent follow-up, and cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Support compliant employee badging and credentialing processes in coordination with HR.
  • Train team members on the effective use of compliance tools to ensure seamless adoption and utilization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance compliance program efficacy and effectiveness.
  • Provide support for Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives and other compliance programs as assigned.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, and leadership teams to support a culture of compliance across the organization.
  • Assist in the development of Agendas for Compliance Team Meetings.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years of experience in compliance or quality control.
  • Cannabis industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to use and manage METRC; experience using METRC preferred.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, with ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to read and understand laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to develop and implement operational best practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with regulating bodies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • High attention to detail, and experience inputting and reporting on high volumes of data.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites, both within market and at times out of state.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain required state licenses based on work location.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Ability to regularly sit, talk, hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms; ability to frequently stand and walk and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in facility environments that may include wet or humid conditions and proximity to moving mechanical parts.
