Job summary

Essential Employment Services is seeking a Logistics & Inventory Coordinator to support cannabis operations with secure product distribution and precise stock control. The role combines field-based delivery duties with on-site inventory oversight and administrative coordination in New Jersey.

Qualifications

What You'll Do!

The Logistics & Inventory Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting cannabis operations through secure product distribution and precise inventory management. This position ensures cannabis products are accurately tracked, safely transported, and fully compliant with all local and state regulations. The role combines field-based delivery responsibilities with on-site inventory oversight and administrative coordination.

Job Responsibilities:
Logistics & Delivery Operations
  • Safely and efficiently transport cannabis products according to established schedules and security protocols.
  • Verify customer or recipient identification and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, including signatures, manifests, and required documentation.
  • Communicate delivery status, delays, or issues with dispatch and internal teams.
  • Act as liaison between retail customer and wholesale team, capturing and reporting feedback, customer needs, and other information to support future orders.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all safety, security, and incident-reporting procedures during transit.
Inventory Management & Compliance
  • Oversee and manage inventory within the cultivation facility, including tracking the movement of cannabis plants, products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Accurately record and update inventory data in the designated inventory management system, ensuring precision and compliance with established procedures.
  • Receive incoming shipments and prepare outgoing shipments, verify contents, and conduct regular audits to ensure quantities and quality of products received align with documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels, anticipate stock needs, and coordinate restocking activities to maintain adequate supply levels while preventing overstock situations.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure the quality and integrity of stored products, promptly reporting any discrepancies or issues to superiors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies related to inventory management in the cannabis industry.
  • Prepare and generate inventory reports, highlighting stock levels, discrepancies, and other relevant metrics for review by management.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Supervisor and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of inventory-related activities.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area, following proper storage guidelines for cannabis products and supplies.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with inventory supervisors, wholesale team, and operations staff to ensure seamless logistics flow.
  • Provide clear communication regarding inventory status, delivery issues, or compliance concerns.
  • Represent the company professionally during all external interactions.
Education & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in inventory management, logistics, or delivery operations within a regulated environment (cannabis industry preferred).
  • Working knowledge of cannabis compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle sensitive products securely.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds as required.
  • Capability to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, or squat for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks and accurate data entry.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments with varying temperatures and humidity.
  • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods as job duties require.
  • Adherence to all safety and security protocols.
