Camelot Facility Management is an established leader in the Facility Management industry with multiple Fortune 100 and 500 clients. Camelot specializes in Corporate Office Facilities, Data Centers, and Mobile Maintenance.

We have an exciting new Facility Chief Engineer position available for an individual with proven leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Facilities Chief Engineer and the ability to manage multiple projects while supervising a team of Building Maintenance Technicians. The candidate will also have experience in HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing repairs for a Class A facility.

Job Summary

Under indirect supervision, the Facilities Chief Engineer oversees and coordinates the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all building systems, specifically facility operations. Supervises and works with onsite staff in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the site infrastructure, building equipment, and controls located throughout buildings. Provides exceptional client interface and oversees all facilities-related projects, contractors, vendors, programs, building systems, and procedures. Conducts routine and ongoing assessments of the building infrastructure, equipment, and all assigned staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the site operation teams to deliver timely support and solutions.
  • Communicate effectively while providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Coordinate regularly with the client’s Facilities Manager regarding maintenance issues, work order status, budgets, and special projects.
  • Manage and support the site maintenance staff to establish work priorities, workloads, training, and safety precautions, including compliance with governmental, client, and Camelot COVID restrictions and mandates.
  • Monitor and adjust the building automation system to operate HVAC equipment efficiently, ensuring a comfortable environment.
  • Oversee inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure service requests are resolved promptly and satisfactorily.
  • Manage the facility’s CMMS for timely work order completion, inventory control, and asset tracking.
  • Provide reports and trend analysis for client quarterly reviews.
  • Establish and monitor appropriate preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor building mechanical and safety equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Coordinate work activities of contractors and outside vendors, monitoring workmanship.
  • Manage all facilities-related software and systems, including building management, energy systems, access control, fire, and safety systems.
  • Support emergency response efforts and critical facility service disruptions.
  • Ensure maintenance procedures are followed and continually improve facility operations.
  • Maintain site excellence to provide a world-class employee and visitor experience.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire, evacuations, and equipment failures.
  • Assist the client’s Facility Manager with overseeing contracted service providers.
  • Be available weekends and after hours for scheduled and emergency maintenance and client events.
  • Coordinate event setup and teardown as needed.
  • Provide an annual O&M spend and 5-year capital plan, including budget analysis.
  • Plan and respond to inclement weather to ensure safety.
  • Participate in contract negotiations to optimize costs.
  • Comply with all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, representing the company ethically and courteously.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years as a commercial facilities chief engineer with proven building operations experience.
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to develop teams.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office, CMMS, and facility management systems.
  • Extensive experience with building energy management, access control, lighting, audio/video, fire, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with HVAC systems using DDC controllers and building automation systems.
  • Knowledge of emergency backup generators and monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and vendors.
  • Competent in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience in budget and capital planning processes.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong safety record and training in safe work practices.
  • Physical ability to perform extensive walking, climbing ladders, bending, lifting up to 75 lbs., and moving objects as necessary.
