Job summary

Freedom House Recovery Center Inc in Chapel Hill is seeking a dedicated nursing professional to assist the Medical Director and PMHNP with health screenings, physical exams, and comprehensive patient assessments.

You will perform nursing screenings, manage medication administration and documentation, provide crisis intervention, contribute to treatment planning, and support the clinical team with Medicaid documentation and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Supports nursing screenings and evaluations with the PMHNP.
• Performs patient care documentation within required timelines.
• Ensures secure storage and accurate dosing of medications.
• Contributes to Medicaid-related clinical documentation.
• Provides crisis intervention and counseling when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Medical Director and PMHNP with health screenings and physical exams.
• Provide nursing screenings, interviews and evaluations in a professional and engaging manner and clearly presenting the information to the medical and treatment team.
• Provide on-call support to Mobile Crisis Team.
• Complete the required written documentation within required timeframe
• Provide medical care in a professional, compassionate and effective manner, and in keeping with established standards.
• Maintain the security of the medications in the storage and dosing areas.
• Inspect/oversee integrity of medical area ensuring that it is clean and well-stocked on a daily basis.
• Provide treatment planning by describing strengths, preferences and needs; and identify treatment goals and strategies for each client assigned.
• Complete and document the treatment/service plan when the client enters the service.
• Monitor and document client medications from prescribing physicians both inside and outside of the organization.
• Work with clinical staff to ensure appropriate documentation of Medicaid clients.
• Administer and dispense medications and prepare and monitor medication dosages, ensuring that each client receives the proper dosage in a timely manner.
• Assist with education of topics pertinent to the program. As a presenter is knowledgeable, effective and professional.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals in a manner that is prompt, effective and professional.
• Establish a rapport and provide professional and effective counseling for clients.
