City of Washington is seeking a facilities attendant to manage daily operations, assist renters and the general public, and support maintenance tasks at the city facilities. You will perform opening/closing, answer inquiries, and ensure safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities include enforcing rules, monitoring equipment, basic HVAC/lighting upkeep, and coordinating with city radio communications. A high school diploma or GED and 6 months of related experience are required.
Responsibility for maintaining the facility and providing customer service during facility use. Safeguards and protects the facilities and their grounds; answers inquiries from the renter, league presidents, coaches, team moms, and/or the general public during functions; handles situations that may occur during rental or reservation period.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least 6 months experience in customer service, facility maintenance, recreation or related programs and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
First Aid and CPR certification desired
Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift objects. Must possess the visual acuity to operate light equipment such as the floor buffer and vacuum cleaners and to review work for cleanliness and thoroughness Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Employee in this class is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and heat, noise from motorized maintenance equipment, vibrations, atmospheric conditions, and oils, greases, fumes, dirt, sharps from metal and glass. Employee must wear hearing/visual protection while performing most field work and may be exposed to blood borne pathogens requiring specialized personal protective equipment. Job may require the employee to work for long periods of time during the day, in the evening and weekend hours as assigned.
