Job summary

Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking two Facilities Worker II to support the Prestonsburg campus with a floating schedule. The role involves cleaning classrooms and offices, restroom upkeep, minor repairs, and event setup. You will help maintain floors, grounds, and general facilities operations on site.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED; 1–2 years of experience is preferred. It is a non-exempt, 12-month term at BSCTC with competitive benefits and a focus on safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years experience in similar maintenance/Facilities work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, and offices, including dusting, trash removal, window cleaning, vacuuming, and restocking soap/paper towels.
• Cleans and maintains restrooms; performs minor repairs and assists with major repairs.
• Performs drywall, painting, ceiling tiles, minor plumbing, furniture assembly, and room setup for events.
• Maintains grounds (mowing, weed-eating, trash pickup, snow removal).
• Performs floor maintenance (carpet shampooing, sweeping, mopping, waxing).
• Other duties as required.

Job Summary

Job Duties:

• Performs daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, and offices such as; dusting, taking out trash, cleaning windows, vacuuming, and keeping the soap and paper towel dispensers full.
• Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of restrooms.
• Performs minor repairs and assists with major repairs.
• Performs dry walling, painting, installing ceiling tiles, minor plumbing, and assemble and deliver furniture, and setup rooms for special events.
• Maintains grounds by mowing, weed-eating, picking up trash, and snow removal.
• Performs floor maintenance such as; shampooing carpet, sweeping, moping, stripping floors, waxing, and buffing.
• Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

1 to 2 years Experience Preferred.
