Job summary

The Perry Hotel in Key West, FL is seeking an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair a range of hotel systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, pools, and life safety equipment.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of engineering experience, a high school diploma, and relevant technical training; must hold a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 pounds; CMMS experience is a plus.

• 4+ years of engineering and maintenance experience.
• Technical training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond, diagnose and repair equipment and systems within the hotel’s physical plant (HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, pools, life safety). CMMS usage is a plus.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations and maintain safety protocols and certifications.
• Address guest issues related to engineering promptly and professionally, handling service requests or emergencies.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Repairs and General Maintenance
  Respond, diagnose and repair a variety of equipment and systems within the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, pools, and life safety systems. Perform tasks such as preventative maintenance, painting, drywall repair, and mechanical maintenance. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track maintenance tasks, streamline workflows, and ensure proper documentation and reporting is a plus.
• Regulatory Compliance & Safety:
  Familiar with compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations, including certifications (e.g., HVAC, pool operations, electrical). Familiar with safety procedures, including basic emergency protocols.
• Customer Service:
  Understand the importance of addressing guest issues related to engineering promptly and efficiently, while maintaining high service standards and respond effectively to service requests or emergencies.
