Job summary

The Town of Warrenton is seeking a part-time Facilities Technician to maintain parks, facilities, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness for rentals and events.

Responsibilities include routine custodial work, inspections, basic to advanced diagnostics across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and cooperation with town programs and emergency responses as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of park and facility maintenance practices, including cleaning procedures and preventive maintenance.
• Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair park amenities and facility systems.
• Familiarity with safety standards and use of PPE.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supports daily maintenance and upkeep of Town parks, facilities, equipment, and assets.
• Performs basic to advanced repair work on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems as assigned.
• Operates tools and equipment safely and documents inspections and time spent on tasks.
• Prepares facilities for rentals, programs, and events; assists with setup and cleanup.
• Maintains records of maintenance activities, parts, and materials.
