Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the physical environment of all ECS facilities supports high-quality services for children and families across Northeast and Central Florida.

You will perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing issues, and work with a team to maintain safe, compliant facilities that enable strong early childhood education programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of appropriate trade programs preferred.
• 3–5 years of related experience (HVAC, Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing).

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair across Head Start centers and facilities.
• Conducts routine preventative maintenance to keep centers and playgrounds safe and functional.
• Monitors building safety systems and reports issues for safe operation.
• Performs repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Inspects problems, references blueprints and manuals to determine corrective actions.
• Procures supplies and parts from vendors or storerooms.
• Uses common hand and power tools and specialized equipment safely.
• Secures necessary permits or approvals as required by law.
• Records work performed and associated costs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
