Job summary

St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a Facilities Technician. The technician maintains facilities, completes routine work orders, and supports safety and inspections to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for staff and clients.

The hourly rate starts at $20 per hour, with responsibilities including on-call rotations and coordination with the Facilities Manager and Lead to uphold building reliability and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical school, trade certification, or related vocational training preferred.
• One to three years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance preferred.
• Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• Perform routine carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and general maintenance tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment and report deficiencies.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities for building systems and equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Assist with furniture moves, room setups, and facility support activities.
• Support life safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance activities as assigned.
• Participate in on-call rotations as assigned.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection logs, and work-order documentation.
• Assist vendors and contractors while they are performing work on-site.
• Report maintenance and safety concerns to the Facilities Lead or Facilities Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
