Job summary

Every Child's Hope in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Maintenance Person to perform upkeep of our facilities.

The role covers inspections, routine maintenance across building systems, and small repairs to keep operations safe and efficient. You will work 30 hours per week on a temporary contract, Monday to Friday, 8 am–4 pm, and be responsible for documenting activities, supporting preventive maintenance, and assisting with fleet vehicle upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, associate degree preferred.
• Three years of experience as a maintenance person or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to lift at least 55 pounds.
• Must own a valid driver’s license & a reliable vehicle.
• Trauma Informed Education/Training required to work with youth, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems to identify and address maintenance needs.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system maintenance.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to address maintenance issues.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure fleet vehicle maintenance, oil change, tire rotation, etc.
