Intel Rio Rancho is seeking a Facilities Technician Intern to assist with building systems maintenance and continuous improvement. You will help inspect, troubleshoot, and support preventative maintenance while studying full-time in a related field.

This on-site internship focuses on safety, energy efficiency, and reliability across mechanical, electrical, and water treatment domains, offering hands-on experience and exposure to facilities engineering within a world‑class technology company.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate degree (preferred) or a certification in a facilities related field such as HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, PLC, or related field of study.
• Must be able to work onsite at Intel Rio Rancho while attending school full time.
• Full-time student graduating within 3 semesters.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment across facilities domains (mechanical, electrical, chemical, water treatment).
• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot system failures to identify issues.
• Collaborate with facilities team to perform preventative maintenance and improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Support compliance with safety and energy standards in facility systems.
• Participate in projects to build technical skills in facilities engineering and maintenance.

Join Intel as a Facilities Technician Intern and play a key role in maintaining and improving our building systems and equipment. In this hands‑on role, you'll assist with inspections, troubleshoot system failures, and support preventative maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. Your contributions will help create a safe, sustainable, and effective environment for Intel's teams to thrive. Facilities management is a critical component of Intel's operations, responsible for ensuring that our campuses function seamlessly to support world‑class innovation. This team oversees building systems and infrastructure, focusing on safety, sustainability, and efficiency to align with Intel's broader goals of delivering cutting‑edge technology solutions globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment across various facilities domains, including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and water treatment systems.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshoot system failures to identify and address operational issues.
• Collaborate with the facilities team to execute preventative maintenance tasks and suggest improvements for system reliability and efficiency.
• Support compliance efforts by ensuring facility systems align with established safety and energy standards.
• Participate in projects and hands‑on activities to build technical skills and gain practical experience in facilities engineering and maintenance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Must be pursuing an associate degree (preferred) or a certification in a facilities related field such as HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, PLC, or a related field of study and be able to work onsite and year round at Intel Rio Rancho while attending school full time. Must be a full time student and graduating within 3 semesters.

Preferred Qualifications

• License Journeyman Electrician
• Knowledge of life safety systems management and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with water treatment equipment management and related systems.
