Facilities Technician II – 3rd Shift
Facilities Technician II will provide support in all aspects of facilities maintenance at the Raleigh, NC plant. Work safely and with quality to ensure an environment that meets the production and environmental needs of all employees. The position supports all departments, interacts with vendors and contractors, and is a team player.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Maintain and repair facilities equipment, including fire detection & protection, boilers, city water, water purification, WFI, clean steam, air systems, and HVAC/chillers.
- Perform general facility repairs (lighting, doors, card readers, security, fire system).
- Write preventive maintenance job plans and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Use and administer Computerized Maintenance Management Software and maintain cleanliness of maintenance and utility areas.
- Execute small projects independently when requested.
- Be available for 24‑hour call‑in support and meet attendance requirements.
- Understand and assist in implementing safety procedures and cGMPs, including aseptic gowning and behaviors.
- Assist other departments and perform duties specified by the Maintenance Manager.
- Operate, maintain, and repair plant utility systems such as boilers, compressed air, pumping systems, chillers, HVAC, hot water, clean steam generators, PW pre‑treatment, WFI stills, wastewater, vacuum, and emergency power systems.
- Interact with contractors, vendors, and OEM technologists to complete PMs and repairs.
- Follow SOPs and documentation procedures.
What You'll Bring
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience in facilities, utilities, electrical, HVAC, industrial equipment, or controls.
- Minimum 1 year of cGMP maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical operation.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and PLC logic.
- Physical ability to lift 50lb and perform required tasks.
- Strong mechanical or electrical aptitude and basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Analytical reasoning and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Strong math, science, and computer skills.
- Ability to read, understand, interpret, and apply technical writing and instructions.
- Attention to detail and understanding of pharmaceutical production.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of cGMPs, and good documentation practices.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and move objects up to 50lbs or more.
- Stand for long periods and perform tasks involving bending and twisting.
- Ascend and descend ladders.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
