Job summary

Ski Cooper in Leadville, CO seeks a Facilities II role for the winter season to assist in upkeep of equipment and facilities, with on-mountain responsibilities and safety focus.

The position requires 18+ with a valid DL, basic skilled trades knowledge, and ability to ski/snowboard at an intermediate level. Great benefits include season pass, discounts, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a current and valid Driver’s License.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Proven experience in a maintenance/facilities position(s).
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
• Knowledge of gas and electric snow blowers and other power equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level to service on-mountain facilities.

Responsibilities

• Aid Manager and Lead in the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
• Help inspect building structures with Manager and Lead to determine repair needs.
• Aid in maintenance of all building fixtures and appliances.
• Help fix issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structure systems.
• Snow/ice removal in and around base area facilities.
• Operate & drive trash truck and one-ton flatbed.
• Janitorial duties after operation hours—vacuuming and cleaning.

Duties and responsibilities

• Aid in the maintenance of all building fixtures and appliances to ensure proper and safe function
• Help fix issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structure systems
• Snow/ice removal in and around base area facilities
• Operate & drive trash truck and one-ton flatbed
• Janitorial duties, particularly after operation hours – vacuuming, cleaning, wiping down, etc.
• Any other reasonable tasks assigned

Working conditions

The Facilities II position is based both inside and outside, and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet).

Physical requirements

Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects which may be heavy, etc.

Seasonal Status

This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of early December 2026 through Late March to mid April 2027. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed. Be sure to speak with your supervisor if you desire to return the next season.
