Job summary

Phase2 Technology is seeking a Facilities Technician II to perform basic and intermediate maintenance on buildings and warehouse equipment. You will guide junior staff and assist senior technicians while maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.

The role supports proactive maintenance, equipment repairs, and adherence to safety practices, with opportunities to develop skills and take on additional duties as directed.

Qualifications

Job description

The Facilities Technician II is accountable for performing basic and intermediate maintenance functions, for providing guidance to junior facility staff (Facilities Assistant II and Facilities Technician I) and for assisting senior staff with complex maintenance. Position is also accountable for maintaining a clean warehouse environment.

Conducts maintenance functions in a proactive, efficient manner by effectively performing basic and intermediate installations, preventative maintenance, and repairs for buildings, building systems (e.g., lighting, electrical, plumbing), internal infrastructure (e.g., general furniture repairs and installations), and warehouse automated equipment. Also, assists senior staff with complex repairs.

Assists in developing the skills of the more junior facility staff (Facilities Assistant I, Facilities Assistant II, and Facilities Technician I) by providing on the job guidance as needed.

Maintains clean warehouse environment in an efficient manner by dumping trash daily at all workstations and by sweeping entire warehouse including workstations.

Assists with eliminating safety hazards by continually evaluating work environment for safety issues and performing needed repairs.

Maintains Electric Static Devices in good working order by properly installing and testing workstations.

Maintains warehouse shelving by performing necessary construction and repairs.

Completes additional duties and projects as directed by reviewing request with manager and appropriately carrying out request.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Three to five years of facility maintenance experience preferred. Two plus years of experience in warehouse automated equipment repair preferred.

• Ability to perform intermediate level maintenance functions independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read English and understand safety rules, operating instructions, and follow work instructions.
• Effective English communication skills.
• Basic computer navigation and typing skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics and perform electrical and pneumatic repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to understand liquid measurements.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, squat, reach, bend, and climb (e.g., ladders, lifts, etc.) on a regular basis for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and move objects up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis using proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to work in high locations (e.g., roofs, on ladders, etc.)
• Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to work in small or difficult spaces.
• Ability to work unexpected shifts/hours due to business requirements.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License, safe driving record and be insurable by company's liability carrier.
• Ability to use general mathematical skills (i.e., add, subtract, multiply and divide).
• Ability to operate maintenance equipment (i.e., drill press, power saws, etc.).
• Ability to pass an in-house examination and operate material handling equipment (e.g., carts, forklift, pallet jack rider, stock chaser, etc.)
