Job summary

The City of Peoria, Arizona is seeking a Facilities Technician I to perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks across City buildings, facilities and equipment. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM on a 4/10 program, with duties spanning systems, carpentry, and preventive checks.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least nine months of related experience, plus a valid Arizona Driver's License (Class D).

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalency.
• Nine (9) months of moderate previous experience in the same or similar positions.
• Valid Arizona Class "D" Driver's License upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performing repairs and maintenance on evaporative cooling systems, plumbing, and light carpentry.
• Handling interior building maintenance, such as ceiling tile replacement, drywall repair, painting, door hardware maintenance, minor cubicle furniture modifications, and light fixture/bulb replacements.
• Conducting visual and operational inspections on backup generators and critical City equipment.
