Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, English literacy, and custodial experience; a valid driver’s license and background check are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to read, write and interpret instructions in English.
• Two years experience or equivalent in custodial work.
• Knowledge of floor scrubbing, carpet shampooing and floor polishing equipment.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents, solvents, disinfectants and polishing agents.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Pass a background check.
• Commitment to equity-minded practices.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, dusts and polishes lighting fixtures, surfaces, pipes and handrails.
• Cleans rooms, halls, lobbies, restrooms, corridors and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor surfaces.
• Cleans carpets and window coverings; dusts furniture and equipment.
• Replaces light bulbs and performs basic maintenance on fixtures.
• Sets up tables/chairs for events and monitors energy use.
